(A/N: Sooooo this was supposed to have submitted a week and a half ago. But it languished in my stash instead of actually POSTING like I thought it would! >< So, here it is. #betterlatethannever)
Wow. Thiiiiings have been kinda quiet on here...but that's probably a reflection of how busy real life has been. >.>
Work has been absolutely hectic with a position change and everything else going on. Personal life has gotten a little crazy, too. I'm also dealing with an old injury to my right hand, which will involve surgery at the end of October. So...there is that, which has also made it sometimes painful to even attempt drawing when I'm finally in the mood to.
However--it is almost Inktober. And even though I'm more comfortable in pencil (and there will likely be half-cheating galore, between pencil-then-inking and screencap references), I took a look at this prompt list and got all the ideas. So, I want to at least give a crack at it. For my own sanity, and to alleviate any potential overload on my wrist, though, I'm going to keep it sort of...Inktober Lite. But! Hopefully this'll get me back on an at least temporary drawing kick, as well as be good practice. Especially since I won't be doing much drawing in November, after the surgery. Here's hoping this'll help me be able to keep drawing, at least? I honestly can't imagine not being able to, in some capacity.
Anyway, I've decided to select the prompts for the month which immediately get my drawing hand itching to make something, and limit it to about half or less of the official list. I have, however, combined some of the ideas, since some of them easily lent themselves to that. They are as follows:

- Swift & Run
- Poison & Underwater
- Sword & Blind
- Shy
- Gigantic (possibly combined with Mask)
- Shattered
- Mysterious
- Graceful
- Cloud
- Deep
- Mask
And of course, anyone who knows me and my current art kick will likely be able to guess what ideas I have for these. But at least some of them can't be that easy to guess--right?
In addition, I'm hoping to throw one or two of these over to the Ronin Warrior Fanzine that's in the works. I'm...a little nervous about it. But it's something I really got excited about when I heard about it and I would probably regret it if I didn't at least try to submit something. So...wish me luck?
Anyone else planning to do Inktober?
Update: Gotten a handful of the above sketches about 90% done or more. I was planning to super mass post them over the weekend, but I didn't get as far as I wanted. However, since only two of the prompts I've chosen show up this week, that should allow me some built in "catch up" time. I want to have at least four completed sketches (if not inked) before I throw them up here this weekend! If I'm ambitious there may even be a few bonus additions.

Onward!
Whew! So, BOS is done for the year. Even though I didn't get to put out as much as I'd planned to, what with the work and 4th of July peering around the bend at the end of June, I still ended up having loads of fun. :w00t: And now I have more material to work with to keep putting out art! (Oh yeah, and happy belated 150th birthday, Canada! :salute: :glomp: )
And maybe twiddling my thumbs while I recover from getting my wisdom teeth out will help, there. XD I already have one idea based off this little escapade to draw. Other ideas of note are more Warlord drawings, something for Jun/Yuli's birthday (that I missed. oops. >.>), and finis
Things, ramblings, and musings (oh my)
"Yay! BOS is back!" I said...two days ago.
Since then:
- Started something I thought would be a nice warm up
- Halfway through: realized it was totally awful
- Spent hours agonizing over it trying to figure out what was wrong
- J/k spent hours being frustrated that it was so wrong
- Finally did what I should have done in the first place and drew a screencap redraw of sorts that took all of twenty minutes.
- Didn't bother fighting with the scanner that night because Exhausted.
- Tried fighting with the scanner the next day. See: above hours of frustration.
- Post the crappy picture anyway.
- Day 2 and 3: rinse and repeat.

Ohmygosh
I'm going to a gaming convention this weekend.
Ohmigodohmigodohmigod.
It's my FIRST EVER con. Of any sort. Well unless you count expos of other types. But this is nerdy! This is me! This is going to be superfun and I'm only sad my husband's out of town and won't be able to go with me. :(
Also, there's a Smash Bros tournament. That I could sign up for. OHMYGOD.
Like, am I good enough for a tournament? Will it be too serious? How good will the other players be? I mean I've played a casual tournament with some friends before and the last time was against people who have played in tournaments and I made it to the semi's buuuut this is, like,
Busy Busy Busy
So busy I don't think I've picked up a pencil to draw (other than doodles) for an entire month and a half. Until yesterday, anyway. I feel like I'm back in drawing mode, so I'm going to try to reach my goal of keeping up with a drawing a week or so from here on out. Hopefully with work settling down a bit I'll be able to try to get more of a routine going (God knows I need it...), but no guarantees.
I'm also hoping to be able to get a basic printer-with-scanner in the near future (next month, maybe), so then I can get some cleaner images of my drawings. ^_^
